Review: I was looking forward to this update, but the one killer feature I was looking forward to was a bit of a let-down. I am of course referring to Spaces. If you've come from a Linux (or even MSVDM under Windows) background you'll find Spaces an irritation too. The main reason is that the task switcher shows all applications rather than just those on the current space.

However, Time Machine is an absolute life-saver. Having automated/reptitive backups handled for you (with a decent UI to retrieve files) makes everything else seem primative.
Pros: Time Machine
Cons: Spaces

Review: The greatest apple OS yet. I have a macbook pro. it works amazingly on it. I definitely think it was worth it. I haven't had it very long and have not experienced any issues so far.

If your mac is due to be upgraded to something new in a year or so i would stay with what you've got. tiger is a great operating system and if your macs got little life left the price would be too high. besides all macs now come with leopard so whats the point if you've got a new one coming.

Also for those who have just bought a mac and don't know about this, you can buy leopard for £5!
Pros: ilife '08 - The programs in here are amazing. iphoto is incredible. i have loads of fun playing with all the software in ilife. for families this is great.

the descktop - this looks amazing. it is so clean and accessible. the dock is easy to use and all my programs and files i often use can easily be bought up in a window with a second. This is a lot better than xp where - if you want to have access to frequently used files - you have to create shortcuts.

pretty much everything about leopard is good. apple really know how to make fast, simple and accessible.
Cons: I haven't found any yet. everything was simple to install.
