The good

Howard was given unprecedented access to the Louvre, McKellen’s valiant attempts to inject some energy into proceedings, Tautou’s legs

The bad

Akiva Goldsman’s bloated, humourless script, Hanks’ bizarre haircut, Howard’s inability to inject the film with any energy, excitement or mystery

Verdict

Apart from these interesting diversions, however, why anyone would fork out £20 on this disappointing offering remains a mystery to us.
