Review: In the inimitable style of Louis Walsh (X-Factor) …’I’ like it’ The Mio 269+ took me only five minuets to get out of the box, tap in my home village and drive out of the distribution centre car park homeward bound. The journey was clear, effective and without waver. The voice prompts were provided in a timely manner, the display showed the landscape with a high degree of accuracy and with gentle reminders to turn, it was a pleasant experience. I had a few wow moments starting with it warning me I was driving too fast along the 30 mile an hour road and nicely displayed the 30 in a red circle. The Points of Interest (P.O.I) kept popping up, service stations, garages, Burger King, all accurate to within 50 yards. So, what have I spotted with it that’s wrong, well it didn’t find my exact postcode, but it did let me save my home address with the coordinates. It got a bit confused on a difficult roundabout, but in fairness it corrected itself in the end. The menu structure could be improved, but to be honest I’m being a bit pedantic now. I thought long and hard about buying the TOMTOM 700 but I’m glad I opted for the cheaper and pound for pound better MIO. Give it a go you’ll like it.
