Review: I think this camera is great. I have taken wonderful night time pictures using the bulb setting and with little to no noise. I find the auto focus is quick and sharp and only use the manual focus in low light. Flash shots are good, but depends on the amount of flash required will depend on flash recharge times. I can take shot after shot literally one second apart with the flash when using it inside to flash fill. The LCD screen is great, big and bright. Some people have commented about the menus and buttons, like any new camera, once you get used to the buttons you find you can move about the menus quickly if needed, even in the dark. I can't see the need to be jumping between continuous and single shot modes that often, but if you did it was simply push the fn button, then up, right, ok, ok and your there, about a whole 1 sec to switch modes. I have used 35mm cameras for years, and digital point and shoot. This is my first DSLR and I have found it to be brilliant. Lastly, I went to a party the other night, fancy dress, lots of colour and costumes. A lot of people with p&s digitals were taking pictures. I got out the DL and took a bunch of pictures, when we reviewed the images later that night they were so much brighter, clearer and sharper than any of the other images taken with the other cameras. There were a few converts to the Pentax Dl that night. I think it rates a good 8.5/10

Review: I have owned a istDL for about a month and a half. I have taken about 3000 pictures with it so far, and this camera DOES produce remarkable images. Little noise on highest ISO setting (3200). What this review fails to mention is one of the reasons I bought this camera. Its LCD is a bright 2.5 inch screen. Maybe instead of L for 'lite' L could stand for 'large', referring to its LCD. What this camera lacks is the ability to focus well in low light. All low light focusing is through the flash. The flash sputters a burst of light until it can focus which is really irritating if you are taking pictures of people. The flash is also very slow, having to charge for a few seconds before being able to take another picture.
