Review: I opted for the Sony NV-U70T because the TomToms didn't offer a TMC function and because everyone has a TomTom! I’ve been testing it for only a couple of days, but I’m pretty impressed with the product so far. GPS receiver is good enough to pick up reception in my upstairs bedroom! The display is bright and clear and the auto-zoom with speed is very effective. Long route calculation is within 20-30seconds and re-routing off planned route (missed turning, etc.) is very quick. No fuss, no dramatic announcements, just a confirmation of next actions. Nice. TMC is quick, with an 'auto-tune' function so that the unit is always tuning in to the best reception frequency. Lastly, it’s nice and solid, not over-large cradle which doesn't hog your windscreen space. Gripes: changing from 2D to 3D and back has to be done through the menu. There are no street names displayed in 3D mode (2D only), and my 70T doesn't have an integrated TMC aerial so a short external aerial gets mounted on the windscreen. Otherwise very happy!
