Review: I am a Windows guy. I earn my living doing video motion graphics work and have always used Adobe products. My clients are all pretty much on Final Cut Pro now and I had to move with the times and get myself, very reluctantly, an Apple laptop. I must admit - it caught me completely by surprise. My Sony AR-VGN21S (Sony's flagship laptop) pales in comparison. The Apple laptop looks gorgeous and the glossy screen was beautiful but the OS was a revelation. When I saw OS X (Leopard) I suddenly realised where VIsta had come from. This is what Vista should of been. I think Bill Gates dumped a mac on the developers desk and said - 'make me one of these' as Vista is a hackneyed, bloated copy. The laptop boots in under 25 seconds (my Sony VIsta machine took nearly three times that) and it just works. No crashes, no security alerts every two seconds, I used to snigger a Mac owners as ''arty-farty' types but now I have seen the light and I'm a true believer. If I was going to quibble anything it would be the lack of USB ports and the one-click mouse is something I'm still getting used to but, frankly, that's just me being damned ungrateful. It's an awsome laptop that is more powerful than my Windows desktop which has 4GB RAM 3.0GHZ processor (MacBook Pro has 2GB / 2.6GHZ Intel) I get around 2.5hrs of battery which some have found short but I was getting 45mins from my Sony so this is luxury for me! I also like the backlit keyboard - lovely and bright - typing in the dark might sound weird but if you're giving a video presentation in a darkened room it's a revelation. The built in webcam was excellent and the quality you can get out of that is as good as a cheap camcorder. Wireless was a piece of cake to setup. All in all, I am a Mac convert - forgive me Steve Jobs, for I have sinned and seek your forgiveness...
Pros: Lovely to look at

Wonderful screen

OS is a pleasure to work with

Cons: Exhaust port gets a little hot

Only 3 USB ports
