Review: Before buying this Finepix S20Pro, I researched it, pro's and con's, for about 3 months. I paid 750.00 Canadian, and up to that time have had no experience with digital cameras. This camera was so easy to use, right out of the box. I use the 16mb card for passports, which gives me 5 shots at 6mb fine, and also when doing business portraits, I have found that I am able to enlarge to 12 x 16 inches, NO PROBLEM! The colours are great, and require little or no editing in Photoshop. I love the fact that I am able to flash sync out of door, group portraits at speeds up to 1/1000 sec. Does any DSLR do that? Also I do not need a dedicated flash for this camera, so my Metz, Vivitar 283/285 and Sunpack flashes work beautifully on this camera. I have been a Professional Photographer for 24 years, and I have thoroughly enjoyed using this camera. I bought an extension ring for my 55mm close up filters and have done some really beautiful macro work with this camera. I use Maxxum 9 35mm cameras, and my filters all are 55mm, so they also work quite nicely with this camera. Price wise, I do not believe that I got a steal or anything, but am I satisfied with my purchase? You bet! The zoom focal length of 35mm to 210mm are just terrific for shooting children in my studio, and the picture packages resulting from these shoots are just awesome! In my opinion, if you are a photographer who is not afraid to be seen not using Nikons or Canons, and want decent value for your money, I can highly recommend this little beauty. Of course it has some drawbacks, but so do the Nikons and Canons. But I love knowing that I can use my same old flashes and filters, and shoot as I always have and obtain great digital pictures. My next purchase will likely be the S9000, and between those 2 cameras, should be able to handle almost any situation I am going to run into in the future. I rate the Finepix S20Pro 8.5 / 10

Review: Despite most of the points raised in the review, itís still a fine camera. You have to look close at the finished images, but you can see an improvement in quality over previous models within the range (S602 etc). If anything - the only minor niggles I have with the S20 Pro are with the ISO speeds (limited range as mentioned in review) and the lack of image quality options i.e. you can get the image size to normal or fine at 6Mb but not a 3mb. I have also noticed a slight tendency to underexpose images, which is no bad thing I guess, as a little tinkering in Photoshop soon solves this. There are no problems with image quality when printing A4 images, having said that I would still recommend the S20 Pro. Itís a great camera to work with, the menu system is simple and easy to use and the build quality, as always with Fuji cameras is simply superb. It comes with great software, I did though end up ditching iPhoto in favor of FinePix viewer because I found it more flexible. I have been very impressed so far.
