Review: 9th March 2005, be aware there seems to be two versions of this product. The one I bought cost £79.99 from Boots and had a re-chargeable battery powered compressor to be used instead of the cans of propellant on the other (previous) version. I would definitely NOT recommend buying it as it basically doesn't work. The compressor was charged up for well over 12 hours as per instructions and connected to the sprayer attachment and hardly a puff of air came through. I (and several others) played about for ages trying to find out what the problem was - re-reading the troubleshooting instructions again and again to no avail. I finally took it back and exchanged it thinking it was just a faulty one. The exchanged version was even poorer (no air at all) so I took it back and got my money refunded.

Review: I've used the Rio tanning system for the fist time and found it far more difficult than applying a foam fake tan, from which I always get wonderful results. The compressor was noisy and moved around irritatingly, constantly getting in the way. It was necessary to hold the canister upside down to spray legs, making the product drip everywhere. Even when tanning in a shower cubicle (tricky confined space) as recommended, the solution spray covers the room, and the soles of my feet turned out black despite wiping them afterwards as recommended. The results were patchy with drip marks, even though I followed the DVD advice of wiping away any drips and re-spraying the area. And the knuckles on the hand I used to hold the airbrush are also darker, from the constantly dripping bottle. Maybe the results will improve with trial and error but overall the experience is nowhere near as easy and hassle free as the DVD makes out and ideally a second person is needed to apply the tan to make the results at all worthwhile.

Review: Well I’m surprised that there are only 3 reviews in the first place! I can’t see what people are actually expecting from it, at the end of the day, its FAKE tan! I went to a salon to have mine done before I tried Rio and the results were terrible. I then had my friend apply Rio and it looked fantastic, maybe your just not doing it right lady’s.

Review: I’m amazed at the two negative reviews above. I used this product for the first time last week and was blown away by the results. A nice golden EVEN tan without much effort at all and all done in 15 minutes. If the results are uneven I suspect that it may be down to insufficient preparation of the skin or poor technique. You need to follow the instructions which come on a very easy to follow CD-ROM. 1.Exfoliate 2.Spray skin with something to balance the PH. 50/50 lemon juice and water is fine 3.Apply without having the airbrush too close. (They even give you a measuring tool) and keep the brush moving in circles. That’s it! 10/10

Review: I’m abit disappointed with this - it is impossible to do yourself so my boyfriend has to do it for me. The tan is so patchy no matter what technique you use, plus it says you can use it with any liquid tan, which is rubbish. I ran out of tan after 4 goes and put in another one, which went even patchier. The canister runs out very quickly too. Expensive and tricky - don't bother!

Review: I was really disappointed with this product. I was hoping for a natural all over tan as advertised on TV, but the result was appalling! I looked like a cheetah!
