Review: I've just bought this phone and am waiting for it to arrive, and apparently the poor battery life is caused by the 3G service. It is fine on Vodaphone and mine is on T-Mobile and should be just as good. One way to solve this is to turn your Bluetooth off when not in use, and turn down the screen brightness. Amazing sound quality, and the memory cards can be as much as 2GB! All in all a fabulous phone 10/10!!!

Review: Awful phone, less than 12 months old, I have had 6 replacements, poor sound quality, unit fails to charge (with correct charger), dead screens, battery life less than a day, yet my Samsung Z140 lasts 2-3 days at a time, no call quality issues, I'll never use Motorola again.

Review: I purchased this phone second hand just before Christmas and I have to say it has been excellent. I subscribed to the '3' live TV in Australia and have been watching CNN live and the Cricket for the last month. The Joystick and keypad are easy to use and the phone is responsive. I find the screen has great colour and is clear. I don't use the camera much but the MP3 player is a bonus. I think it is a great all round 3G phone and is just as handy to pop in the pocket as my previous Siemens phone. I give it a high rating and definite buy!

You turn it on and it says a-GPS is on......Where is the nice GPS map that is suppose to guild me to where I want to go...there’s no java application for the GPS so it’s quite useless!!!

Review: Call sound is always "muffled" i.e. terrible, battery life lasts for 24hrs if only on standby, use twice that and the battery is flat. It cuts out for no apparent reason and is also a large heavy phone. If this is Motorola's shining star then no wonder Nokia are doing so well!!!!!!!!!!!!

Review: I haven’t had a chance to get this phone but I was really looking forward to it but it seems as thought the battery life isn’t very good and it’s prone to getting broken. Now I’m not very interested in this phone, I like the look A LOT but I think I’m better off going for another one. Don’t worry Motorola, I only buy Motorola cell phones... I really love Motorola but maybe you should recall the phone and fix it!!! Telling you as a customers view!!!

Review: I've had my E1000 for 4 months and believe me when I say it is a waste of money. The battery life lasts for 1 day tops, and it is so heavy that in my country, a defensive weapons permit is needed to carry it!! Plus, when charging, the screen is always on and the alarm doesn't go off. It even makes annoying sounds while you don't check missed calls or received messages. Do not buy this phone or any Motorola, I've seen a few and they are all rubbish. Enough, I'm switching back to Ericsson!!!

Review: I love this phone, it has great features. Battery lasts just fine if you are careful not to have everything on at the same time (e.g. screensaver, Bluetooth etc). Excellent image and great sound, it’s better than the Nokia I had before. I believe that Nokia phones are highly overrated and expensive, some of them anyway. Motorola rules!!!

Review: Overall I really like this phone. Mine is currently back with the vendors fixing it for draining the battery although I'm not expecting them to fix it. I think I will tuff it out by carrying a spare charged battery until a better phone comes around. With the 256 extra memory I can have loads of MP3 tunes and pictures. If it hadn't come bundled with the 3 deal it would not be value for money.

Review: Battery = very poor. It took me about 2 days to work out how to use the Bluetooth but I was very glad that I did because it’s amazing! I can get whatever ringtones I want off the computer and the camera is great and the texting is very easy. I have though just broken my charger by accident, grrrr, so I might have to buy a new one. I think I can say that this charger is without doubt the stupidest thing I have seen. It broke way too easily and seeing as a new one costs about £10 I am very mad. My phone has so many scratches on it now it is hard to see the screen and the dust coating the screen that will not come off doesn’t help either!!! Apart from that I think it is a great phone with great pictures, sound and easy to use.

Review: I like the phone but the battery life as most people have mentioned is pathetic! Even if you don't use it for anything (other than in standby) all day, you still need to charge it every night. I have had mine for 6 months and it's now in for repair for speaker/interference problems. I also lost everything in my text inbox for no reason - puzzling. The phone is quite chunky and heavy but on the whole not too bad. Could do better Motorola!

Review: First of all, I'm not sure why some are saying that one of the phones bad features is that it doesn't have a removable storage device? Mine came with a 32 MB one. The phone can support up to 1GB. Mine doesn't also have the dictionary problem some have mentioned (the phone has a dictionary function). It's true the screen can be easily scratched and about the battery thing...it lasts too little time...its A 3 G PHONE WITH a 1.3 MP CAMERA; you tell me about another 3g phone with better lifetime battery and I will eat it. Anyway mine lasts about 4-5 days in stand by and it says on the box: 155 hours autonomy. Oh and let me not forget if you want to upload photos from your computer into the e1000, make sure they are 240 /320 mp (you will see why when you set them as wallpaper or as a screensaver) the phone tools program doesn’t do it right in image studio so you must convert the format in acdsee (preferably 0.7) and then just copy it in the phone with mobile explorer. One more thing: I've had a lot of phones (mostly Motorola) but this one is by far the best I've had. I want to congratulate the Motorola Company for this phone; I’m enjoying it a lot.

I am now on my third, not through my own choice, but my mobile supplier having to replace it all the time because it keeps on breaking down. Firstly there was problem with the battery and now the phone is stuck to the charger!!!!! The charger has got this stupid button to press to release the phone, but it became loose and is now gone! I can’t therefore take the charger off and have to walk around with the whole lot in my handbag!!!!!! My rating 1/10

Review: I used to have the LG u8120 on the 3 network, which malfunctioned twice and so I demanded the Motorola e1000 as compensation. The phone was a joy to use, and I say ‘was’ because it ‘used’ to be fun, until the battery cut out. I am so nervous with this phone that to save the battery I have to turn the phone off when I am at work, or with friends because the battery is the worst I have ever experienced. It has repeatedly died on me in situations where a mobile is life saving. Just imagine if you're in an emergency, you can't help yourself because the battery's flat!! I now realise that if you want a 3g phone, the first thing you should consider is the battery life, because if you don't, you will soon wish you had.

Review: Absolute joke, they can work in cameras and video recorders but can't design a practical contacts menu? Still having to have a whole separate contact for someone's alternative number, how 1990s. The makers of this phone are obviously unbelievable idiots. How could they leave out such an obvious feature? And predictive texting, apparently hi0 and ok0 and bye0 etc are all more likely to be choices than hi, ok and bye.

Review: Battery life problems? I had a faulty phone so I got a new phone but that lasted less than 24 hours on standby mode. I rang the 3G mobile phone company and they said it was a problem with the phone/battery and to get the 3G dealer to REPLACE it. The dealer on the other hand said that on a 3G network 24 hours is normal! Anyway after much hassling with the dealer I got the replacement phone - if on standby mode most of the time I can get up to 6 days (148 hours) now. [The E1000 Specification states it is 155 hours].

The battery is a joke, so much so that my supplier has agreed to give me a replacement ASAP. I have only had the phone a couple of months and the screen is very easily scratched, the slightest contact leaves a mark!! BEWARE, I’d recommend you demand a case and two spare batteries!! Better still buy a NOKIA!!

Review: One of the best phones I've had the opportunity to play with. The features such as the colour screen and mp3 player are great. The only downside to this phone is the battery life (which lasts just about a day for me), and the fact that you have to remove the battery to access the TransFlash memory card and for some reason I am not able to setup my Bluetooth correctly. So far I’ve only been able to connect via ftp which is really slow.

Review: I have to say I've been quite impressed with the Motorola e1000 - it's certainly made my 'mobile' life so much more fun. It's a great handset, very easy and intuitive to use with lots of interesting and useful features/capabilities. I'll echo what the other guys say about the battery life only lasting for about a day but although it irritates slightly, I don't think it's a great problem. I'd give it an 8.5/10.

Review: Great range of facilities but a couple of downers... <br>Bluetooth bugs - two computers which work well with Sony Ericsson phones don't seem to work too well with this phone. <br>Extra memory - I put in a 256MB transflash - great for photos and mp3 files downloaded from the PC (when Bluetooth works!) but downloads from 3 network only address the internal 16Mb memory which means you can only store about 4 of those nice mp4 music videos and because 3 lock them they can't be moved to the transflash memory. <br>If your previous phone was an A835 it came with USB cable and software which also works with the E1000. Oddly, the battery life in the UK is rubbish whatever signal area I'm in, but when I'm abroad (2G) the battery lasts for days. It would be nice to switch it into lower power 2G mode when all you want to do is be in 2G contact (phone and text) to conserve battery life and then switch it to 3G when you want 3G services.

Review: I bought my e100 3 or 4 months ago and it’s the best thing ever, but I must admit the battery life isn’t all that, but it’s not too much of a problem. If I had a choice between the e1000 and the a1000, it would be the e1000 because it’s got better screen colours and a better and more compact multimedia handset. The a1000 is also nice but not as much as the e1000. All it needs is a proper web browser, application/software compatibility and a BETTER BATTTERY LIFE!

Review: Unfortunately I bought two e1000 from ‘3’ and the best place for the two devices and of the 3 service in general is the garbage can. The battery life is too short even for a toy. When travelling, the roaming stops working and you have to switch the phone off and on again to make it function again. This is the worst Motorola product and the worst mobile service provider ever experienced.

Whoever designed this should pay much more attention to the little details like the fact that the phone requires to be turned ON to use all of the other features, even if you don’t use this phone, it kills the battery in one day on standby! DO NOT BUY IT.

Review: PROS - Looks sleek, expensive-feeling, magnificent speakers, attractive, easy to use menu interface, full screen videos, excellent dual-cameras, huge screen, good joystick and keyboard, ability to 'lock' text messages, very easy to send multiple texts, many contact options, including DOB input, easy to use calendar, cool MMS templates, extensive ring-tone options. CONS - Very poor battery life, needs to be charged every night, slightly heavy, restricted Bluetooth, joystick position needs getting used to, text messages, etc. sometimes quite difficult to input, few custom themes, limited internal memory, mp3 player with headphones not particularly 'crisp', alarm quite difficult to set, no anniversary options in calendar, no WAP, no USB cable and software bundle, SD instead of transflash would have been better. Overall a fine Motorola phone, notable points are the phones incredible surround sound speakers, build quality, highly attractive and simple menus. Battery life is very poor and lack of software and data cable bundled is puzzling. There is also the need to purchase an additional Transflash card for extra memory. Still worth buying though, just take into account the pros and the cons! Hope this helps!

Review: I am now on my second handset with the first being sent back due to poor battery life. Having had the new handset on full charge at around 7pm last night and now on 2 out of 6 bars of charge after a small amount of Bluetooth activity and a 30 minute call, it seems this handset has the same bad battery life as the other handset. Conclusion: any phone that requires daily charging is not worth bothering with. The alarm is rubbish also – it failed to go off this morning, even though I checked it many times...Compare this to my trusty Nokia 6230 that has a good 3-4 days life even with lots of MP3 use and a fair amount of talktime, then there is no comparison. The camera is rubbish also, it’s stated as being 1.2MP, but it takes worst pictures than my 6230, which is only rated at VGA. The colours, contrast and sharpness of the picture from the e1000 are so out it is untrue. If it weren't for these issues, then it would be a great phone. As it is, stay away...

Connection to PC via USB cable has been a bit variable, but this could be my PC. It has "crashed" when changing from 3G to GPRS and whilst surfing at the same time, itís annoying, but not really something that's going to affect you much! All in all, itís much better than other phones, and the above are minor quibbles. Video downloads are great, sound is fine and menus are quite intuitive.

This means you cannot send/receive clips or pictures to random people in pubs. The only good thing is, Motorola has fantastic speakers for ringtones (way ahead of any other mobile) and you can actually have whatever Mp3 as a ringtone unlike other phones.
