Review: Konami bites yet again with this masterpiece. How does Konami do it? You think it's time to have a breather after having your hand glued to the controller for 6 months playing Pro Evolution Soccer4, when Konami bring out another 'corker' like this. That's more of your life wasted because of Konami's brilliance.....don't you just hate them? Far from it actually! Konami puts makers like EA to shame. With EA it's all about the money, and with Konami its customer satisfaction. Let's take FIFA for example. Dodgy graphics, jerky screens and weird set pieces. Yes it's had a major improvement from early 2000s, but it's still as far from PES standard as Pluto is from the Sun. Konami puts all the competition to shame, and it is with great pleasure that I can announce that Hideo Kojima has followed suit and has achieved as near-perfection as is possible with this installation of Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater. The storyline is as enchanting as you would find in a movie, it grips you from the start and leaves you enthralled until the end when all the pieces fit together. The pickiest of gamers would maybe find the voice of Snake slightly annoying, and the cheesy lines somewhat of a cliché. That aside, Metal Gear Solid's graphics and game play is truly stunning and at times can get quite chilling and gruesome; so watch out if you’re easily scared or faint-hearted. About an hour into the game, there is a surprise when suddenly the missed-out starting intro comes on. Don't be alarmed as I was, thinking that this was even shorter than the last Metal Gear, I can assure you this is not the end of the game and it is a longer game than the last. The best thing though - better than the dazzling graphics, the un-missable story, the array of weapons, and even the breasts of the bond-style female sidekick - is the duals between yourself (Snake) and each of the bosses. These play a big part in your quest to the finish line. When completing the game, it leaves you excited not only for the next MGS but also to play it all again just to relive every moment of pure brilliance this game has. Snake Eater bites the dust with this venomous sequel which makes it the best game the Playstation 2 has to offer.
