Review: Great camera but I miss the removal of the ‘pentaprism’ to change focusing screens. I’ve already scratched the mirror because of the mechanism and fiddly handling of the tweezers with poor instructions on how to do it properly.

Review: The F6 has a slight delay compared to an F5 when you focus from one subject to another subject with a different distance, while pressing the shutter button. I also believe that the F5 has more torque.

Review: The F6 is just the best film camera in the world, today. It's an absolute workhorse, sturdy, accurate, amazingly efficient. Just take one in your hands, and aim: the viewfinder is absolutely fantastic, so much brighter and sharper than anything else on earth. AF is so sensitive and reactive, metering is way ahead of anything else, even the F5. Of course it's a pro camera, you have to know what photography and techniques are, but this is the BEST TOOL ever.

Review: I've bought a pair of F6/MB40 bodies. Having used both Canons, the 1V & the 1V RS, as well as the Nikon F5, my impression of the F6's AF system is that it is the fastest extant. There are settings whereby it hesitates, for example, when it is asked to compute closest focus or when it is in group dynamic mode; however, these are options that never existed before and it should not be penalized for their requirement of additional CPU time. When they are switched off, the F6 is blazingly fast -- easily beating the 1V RS in focus speed. The exposure system is also incomparable, a noticeable improvement over that provided with the F5, itself somewhat more accurate than that in the two newer Canon models. Finally, the heft and balance of the F6, both with and without its companion MB40, is exceptional.
