Review: I have never bought any other make of camera but Nikon, but I’ve had nothing but trouble with this model. Firstly, the battery charger stopped working on my holiday. After several weeks at the repairers, it came back with no flash, no auto focus and a grainy menu screen. It was sent away again and returned with still no flash. After contacting the repairs, they suggested I returned to the retailers who took up my cause and I am still waiting for a replacement. We shall see.

Review: I got my Nikon S1 from cameramad.com because I had bought from there before and the service was superb. S1 is a good camera for what you intend to use it for. Of course there are better cameras out there but considering the price and the name Nikon, I somehow knew I couldn't go wrong and to date I haven't been disappointed. The user aspects are as good as any other digital compacts in the same range but if there is one moan then it comes on downloading pictures which is not as fast as I would expect. The only camera in comparison that I have found to be superior is the Minox DC 5211. Unsure if it is still a/v though. But the S1 is a good alternative and will not disappoint.

Review: I use this camera for work where I can take quick record shots at low resolution, all day without running out of battery power. It fits very neatly into a shirt pocket. It’s also great for recreation at high-resolution with plenty of pre-set modes to keep me playing around. I’m very pleased with the results although the slim profile and outer finish has nearly resulted in me dropping the thing. Use of the wrist strap is now habitual! Have recommended to friends.

Review: I bought this camera when it first came out for a European trip. The camera was great and easy to carry in my pocket. Quick start-up and using an ultra SD card enabled quick recording and refresh time. Indoor pictures in museums and churches although difficult to hold steady to avoid blurring allowed me to get some great shots inside the Vatican. My only complaints were that that I did not like the automatic redeye fix as subjects hate the strobe before firing and it usually affects their positioning for the shot, I find it’s much easier to fix later. I did not like that the only options on display were either ‘on’ or ‘off’. Would like to be able to have information ‘on’ for shooting and ‘off’ for viewing. Did not like that the timer had only 1 option 10 seconds. The best thing I did was to buy 2 extra batteries on EBay at $10.00 each; a cheap investment that worked out great. As my gripes are small I would rate this camera as an 9.5 out of 10 for ease of use and just plain fun.

Review: I purchased this camera today at a BestBuy store. I was first impressed by its ultra-compact design and smooth look about it. The LCD screen was large and caught my attention, this is a feature that I have fallen in love with the more I've used the camera. This camera has many features that are found easily. It is the perfect camera for someone who takes many pictures in all types of settings. It is small and light, but doesn't feel weak. The only con I have is the initial set up has a lot of little quirks, but if you can get past that, you are golden! So far I have to say, I LOVE this camera and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect multi use camera. It is fashionable and user-friendly, but still ranks high in quality. This camera is a fantastic buy!

Review: I love this camera, it takes pictures as good as any larger camera. I love the menu system, it is set up well and you can read it well. It has a lot of options that are easy to do, allows you to be creative without having to do too much work or get to deep into f-stops and such. The Panorama Assist is wonderful! I also bought the Nikon case which is excellent and I would recommend. The only part that is not the greatest on this camera is the movie mode, at 15 fps it is a little choppy and not a very good picture. Still I give it a 10/10.

Review: I have a Canon Powershot G2 and my wife's cousin bought this camera (Nikon Coolpix S1). We both took a lot of pictures of different light settings and here is my conclusion about this camera. Pros: 1. Very small and thin and can easily fit in a pocket. 2. High megapixel resolution and pictures are good in proper lighting. Cons: 1. Very small and thin. It is good for small people but for someone big, the camera is too delicate and the buttons are very small. 2. The screen is unprotected and can be damaged easily in the pocket. 3. Low light photos are not illuminated well enough by the flash so you might just have the subject lit up and the background dark. 4. Don't know if it is due to small size but if you casually take out the camera for a picture, the chances of the picture being blurred are high. Summary: This camera is an entry level camera, good for small people. The main asset is the small size.

Review: I purchased my S1 from Best Buy which I think was a great price, I try taking pictures in all the available scene modes and they are excellent shots. I'm falling in love with Panorama assist which allows me to merge several photos together; my only problem is the battery life.

Review: A friend recently got the S1 at Circuit City, I didn't know it was even out until I saw it and immediately recommended it to my friend. It's extremely compact, the lens is amazing, so much so it gets the same zoom style pictures as my 995 (from either folding or "right-angle" optics). Features I love - fantastic zoom for such a compact camera - convenient lens cover - no viewfinder is a plus - excellent 2.5" screen - fast startup (approx .5s) - uses SD, has 12mb internal memory and a quick charge battery.

Review: A nice neat camera, smart enough to take good pictures but neat enough that you don't look like a idiot taking out your SLR every time you want to take a quick picture. There is a place for both formats in a photographer’s life and the s1 can be tucked away in a pocket until needed. With excellent picture quality and some neat features like time lapse movies, this really swung it for me.

Review: I have not tried this one yet but from reading the spec it seems to be a neat one. Pity though its video mode is of only 15fps while the majority (almost all) of competitors offer 30fps.
